I couldn't get to sleep last night, must have fallen alseep after 0100 Eastern Time. We woke up about 0630 Eastern Time - having crossed some time-zones (this was 0330 western time) this was not easy! I can feel my body clock is taking a little strain - I also struggled to get to sleep last night. We left the Howard Johnson Inn for JFK to find out that our flight to Dubai, EK204, has been delayed to from 0940 to 1115....hence this opportune moment to update our blog.
Sunrise as we flew into Dubai
After crossing quite a few time zones we landed in Dubai at about 0830 local time. On exiting the air-conditioned Dubai International Airport, we were hit with the truth about Dubai - it's hot! The temperature was 45 degrees and there was about 80% humidity. We hurried to a taxi, and our Phillipino driver gave us a lift to the Wild Wadi.

It's really difficult to take photos in Dubai, as the lens fogs up quickly from the heat and humidity.
The shopping centre's air-conditioning provides relief from the heat
