Our holiday in San Antonio, Texas : Monday, 8th May 2006

Woke up about 8am this morning (Karen was already up). It is another hot sultry day in San Antonio, something like Durban in the summer. Luckily the house we stay at has air-conditioning and so do most shops, however I can feel the humidity when I go outdoors.

We spent the day chilling out, mostly at home but also at a shopping centre. (Seaworld, the amusement park here was closed). In the evening we joined up with Mark and went through to San Antonio's city to watch a 3-D IMAX. On rushing downstairs I discovered that Rommel has a tendency to put his jaw around any ankle which shows itself over the fencings placed in the house!

The 3-D IMAX was great. We watched a movie about the Apollo missions and the lunar landings, which had been directed by Tom Hanks. It was the first time Karen or I had seen a 3-D movie. It's quite an experience, especially when you see things flying "out of the screen" at you. For supper we went to a Greek restaurant, where I enjoyed humus, a falaffel and lentil soup.

Internet connection

One of the great things about being in the USA is the internet connection speed. It is far far far faster than in South Africa.
